I’ve never worked with a recruiter before… how does it work?
Not all recruiting firms work the same way. At Synergis, we believe in building long-term relationships with our clients and candidates. So, when you work with us, the very first step is to connect you with a recruiter who specializes in the field in which you work. We partner with you from the very first conversation through the final stages of the interview, so you always have the support you need. Here is the basic process we follow:
Step 1: When you decide to work with Synergis, we’ll connect you with the recruiter who can best support you on your professional journey.
Step 2: Next, we’ll take some time to get to know you: we’ll discuss your strengths, interests, professional goals and vision for your career.
Step 3: Using our new understanding of your situation, we’ll evaluate the current opportunities from our clients and set up interviews for you with any roles of interest.
Step 4: Finding you a great opportunity isn’t the end of our relationship. After you start your new gig, we’ll keep in touch to make sure things are going well and will continue to provide help and resources through our Consultant Advocate Program.

I applied to a job through a Synergis recruiter and haven’t heard back...what now?
We do our best to keep up with our clients so we can keep our candidates informed of progress and next steps. That said, sometimes our clients have hiring processes in place that take a long time, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t hear back right away. Feel free to check in with your recruiter for an update!
What kind of pay and benefits do Synergis consultants receive?
We offer our consultants fair market hourly pay or salaried options, and industry-leading benefits, including paid time off and holidays for some clients. For more details, please contact humanresources@synergishr.com.
What kind of support will I get from Synergis once I’m placed in a job?
At Synergis, we leverage our Consultant Advocates (CA) to support our consultants. The CA program aims to give our contractors a face-to-face connection point with Synergis. As much as our consultants are a part of their teams onsite with our clients, we want them to feel a part of the Synergis team as well. CAs handle anything from consultant on-boarding to resolving interpersonal challenges with teammates or managers and serve as a connection point to any other Synergis team member, such as Payroll or Human Resources.
Does Synergis offer any professional development training?
For certain clients, projects and contract durations, we offer online training and financial assistance for attending seminars.
Will working for a staffing agency help me get a permanent job?
Every role is different. But many clients are open to converting contract roles into a permanent position. In fact, one in five of our consultants convert from contract to permanent roles. Depending on what our clients are looking for, we also place people in permanent positions, so that’s always a possibility.
How can I connect with Synegis?
There are several ways to get connected to our team. You can connect with us on social, or get in touch with us directly through our Contact page. However you decide to reach out, we look forward to connecting with you!
How long do people work on an assignment?
The average length of an initial contract duration is about six months. But, the average overall tenure of our consultants is 16 months and the average assignment extension is four months. So, it varies greatly per client and assignment.
Does it cost money to work with a Synergis recruiter?
As a job seeker, you’ll never have to pay to work with us. Because we partner with our clients and are working on their behalf to find them great talent, they pay a fee for talent we place on their teams.
What’s the difference between Synergis IT and Synergis Creative?
Synergis IT specializes in placing technology-related positions. A few years ago, we expanded to include a Creative division. Synergis Creative specializes in placing candidates in the marketing and design roles.
What if there isn’t a Synergis office near me?
No problem! We generally conduct initial interviews over the phone and keep in touch through email, so you don’t necessarily have to come by the office for us to start working together.
What kind of flexibility does a staffing job offer me?
Temporary and contract employees can often choose when, where, and how they want to work—all contributing to valuable work-life balance. In fact, 85% of staffing employees surveyed by ASA said work flexibility was highly important and a reason for pursuing temporary or contract work. (Source: American Staffing Association, 2014 Staffing Employee Survey)
As former creatives and current recruiters, we’ve experienced both sides of the creative hiring equation, which means we understand the challenges you face inside and out.
