Title: Writer (Writer III)
Our Client's Learning team builds educational content for teams across the company and organizations externally. Our flagship programs include g.co/applied digitalskills and g.co/csfirst. We are a team of Instructional Designers, Program Managers, and Video Specialists with deep expertise in education, pedagogy, and the client's products. We aim to build “applied learning” content that is creative, actionable, and practical to teach skills that can expand learners’ opportunities and reduce inequities.
Our client's Learning team is looking for writers to aid in content creation and curation for our Applied Digital Skills (g.co/applieddigitalskills) program as well as create content for our clients (who are both internal and external groups who we develop learning content for). These writers will develop projects, write scripts (for filming) and create/edit educational content (which is often, but not always, about the client's applications including word processing docs, spreadsheets, slides, etc.). Creating educational content includes, but is not limited to outlines, rubrics, lesson plans, video scripts, survey questions, quizzes, assessments, crosswalks across educational materials, workshop presentations, gifs, teacher support resources, updates/refreshing curriculum, video feedback, educational guides and online instructions.
Superb writing and editing skills are necessary for this position, along with the ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and timelines, and prioritize organization and efficiency in their work, locate relevant information online and work within deadlines. This position will involve developing, instructional design, writing, editing, ideating, compiling, manipulating and paraphrasing content.
-5-10+ years previous experience in educational content creation with a portfolio of work
-Intermediate level experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
-Experience working on curriculum development
-Familiarity with the K-12 education space and higher education and/or adult learning environments
-Interest in or passion for diversity and/or educational access and equity.
-Willing to work on problems that aren't neatly defined
-Self directed, able to perform tasks without a great deal of supervision and working on multiple projects at the same time
-Ability to work within strict deadlines
-Break large problems into actionable pieces for novices to understand
-Understand and scaffold content for different educational audiences
-Create or adapt existing processes to complete a task -Communicate to or with different audiences
-Familiarity with the Applied Digital Skill curriculum (g.co/applieddigitalskills)

-No previous coding experience is required, however a willingness to learn any new subject areas by working with subject matter experts is required.
