Position: Sr. UX Content Strategist + Writer

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA

Duration: 12+ month contract, potential to extend

Rate: $85-90/hour, DOE

 

 

Position Overview:

Our clients' Payments Consumer team is searching a strong Sr. UX Content Writer + Strategist to join their team for a 12+ month contract. You will be focused on digitizing offline payments, building meaningful relationships with users and the parties they pay online, enabling unique hyper-local shopping experiences, and facilitating more opportunities for finance and credit. Over 60M monthly active users around the world are paying with Google through their app and we have exciting and aggressive plans to grow the offering and user base.

 

The Payments UX Content Strategy team is seeking an experienced and passionate Content Strategist and UX Writer to help bring our global product to its next generation of users. Using your empathy, strategic thinking, and stellar writing skills, you’ll help set the vision for all user communications and drive cohesive narratives across multiple platforms and touch points, focusing on delivering the best experience for our users. You’ll collaborate with a cross-product group of Designers, Product Managers, Marketers, and Engineers to understand our customers’ motivations and mindsets, and develop a clear language for users as well as guidelines for developers. A payments, ecommerce, or banking background would help you hit the ground running. 

 

Top Responsibilities:

  • Plan, create, deliver, and manage content that’s an integral part of the user experience in-app and off-app (emails, push notifications, UI modules such as Sparks, Heads Up Displays (HUDs), Billboards, etc.) 
  • Define, document, and write guidelines for the different audiences that create, use or develop comms artifacts
  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, marketers, product managers, and engineers to define and document language principles, voice & tone, and content requirements 
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Marketing copywriter to deliver projects across teams

 

Skill/Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or related field (Human Computer Interaction, aka HCI or Psychology)
  • 3 – 5 years experience in writing and designing product experiences as part of a UX team developing software and/or at a digital agency
  • Experience in online help, online content production, editing, UX writing, content strategy and marketing communications for consumer-focused communications
  • Portfolio of demonstrated product and writing work
  • Strong verbal and written communications, including developing presentations and deliverables
  • Proven ability to drive design thinking through working closely with UX and product teams
  • A strong understanding of user experience principles, and email marketing
  • Ability to work globally and cross-functionally in an ambiguous environment
  • Excellent project manager and self-starter, with the ability to work independently and on multiple initiatives at the same time
  • Excellent leadership, oral and written communication, project management and analytical skills
  • Marketing/Communications writing experience is a plus
