Title: Merchandising Manager

Location: Mountain View, CA

Duration: 10+ Months (medical, dental, vision benefits offered)

As a Merchandising Manager, you will help build and maintain our client’s store on phones, web and tablets. Based on your digital content retail experience, you will coordinate and launch online features and promotions. You bring to the table strong retail instincts, sharp analytical abilities, and impeccable oral and written communication skills. You are comfortable working cross-functionally with product, design, marketing, engineering, and other teams to develop an innovative user experience. It’s important that you be able to work both independently and collaboratively to develop new content features and scalable merchandising processes. You’ll also have a track record for successful prioritization, meeting critical deadlines, and enthusiastically accepting challenges with an eye toward problem solving.

 

As a Merchandising Manager, you will impact millions of users every day by managing merchandising efforts end-to-end for media and entertainment (M&E) apps globally.

You will be the expert on video streaming apps, user needs, and the local ecosystem. You’ll work with Merchandisers from other verticals on country strategy, Business Development on understanding needs of strategic partners, and Product and Engineering on supporting new platform capabilities for our users. Additionally, you will set the strategy for and execute against merchandising and retail promotions for M&E apps while continually analyzing performance metrics and optimizing the user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set merchandising strategy for video streaming apps and execute against the global plan.
  • Analyze internal data, market research and industry trends to select content to promote.
  • Manage a content calendar of key moments across all top partners.
  • Collaborate with partners and business development teams to drive business success for both developers and Play.
  • Develop user insights, including understanding of customer lifecycles and segments.

Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory

BA/BS degree 5+ years of experience working in a merchandising, marketing, or partnerships role for an online commerce or digital content business.

Excellent communication skills and collaborative working approach

Demonstrated strategic capability and analytical skills; ability to analyze research or performance data and apply that analysis to optimize merchandising strategy.

Ability to work with partners to develop co-promotion or cross-promotion strategies and campaigns.

Desired

Experience working with the media and entertainment industry

Experience working with apps/mobile

Ability to advise on strategies and product requirements to enhance merchandising capabilities.
